Begin at Euljiro 3-ga or Chungmuro Station and walk the printing lanes. A weekday afternoon offers the best chance to observe deliveries and finishing work. Find signs for plate-making, foil, coating, cutting, and binding, then imagine the order in which one job might move. Keep handcart routes and entrances open and request permission before filming. If it is a weekend and shutters are down, do not stare through windows; record only the street structure and trade signs. Allow forty to fifty minutes. The purpose is not to inspect every shop but to recognize a distributed production system.
3 p.m.: compare two heights at Sewoon Sangga
Walk toward Cheonggyecheon and examine repair and component shops below before using only the stairs and elevated spaces currently marked as public. Small parts and technicians connect the city at ground level; above, the long axis between Jongno and Toegye-ro reveals the scale of the 1968 urban proposal. Compare that promised future with the present low-rise industrial blocks. Construction and management can alter access, so signs and barriers overrule a saved map. Give this section fifty to sixty minutes including rest, and keep residential or private corridors separate from public viewpoints.
5 p.m.: pause and choose the evening rather than collecting it
Use an authorized resting place near Cheonggyecheon or on the street to decide the last section. Check whether a restaurant closes between lunch and dinner. If choosing Nogari Alley, verify a particular pub and its seating. If choosing the lighting district, move before shops finish closing. One focused ending is better than racing through both. Heavy rain can close the lower Cheonggyecheon path; use street level and official access information instead. Travelers with limited mobility can choose either the printing district or Sewoon and save the other for another day.
At dusk: finish where light and quitting time trade places
In the lighting district, fixtures become part of the street's visible glow. In Nogari Alley, a daytime delivery route may turn into evening customer space. Do not assume past photographs describe current operation, and protect pedestrian routes and residents' quiet. Use public transport after drinking and avoid noise near workshops and homes. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or construction justifies shortening the route; never cross a work zone to complete an itinerary. Afterward, note what was actually open, which path required a detour, and the date of the visit. Conditions are more useful to the next traveler than a promise that every stop is always available.
