Museong Seowon and eight other academies were inscribed as Seowon, Korean Neo-Confucian Academies on July 6, 2019. The former July 10 date has been corrected to UNESCO’s official inscription date.
UNESCO recognizes the sites for demonstrating the educational system, architecture, and localization of Neo-Confucianism in Joseon Korea.
