Mangwoo-ri Park · 🚶

From the Entrance to the Contemplation Trail: The Complete Half-Day Route

A three-to-four-hour route through a hillside that was reborn from a cemetery into a historical-cultural park. Backup plans are included for both grave-visiting season and an ordinary day.

The core route

1. The entrance to Mangwoo-ri Park — Start your route at the signage explaining the park's naming history.

2. The graves of independence figures (Han Yong-un, Oh Se-chang, and others) — Follow the guide map to locate them.

3. The graves of cultural figures (Bang Jeong-hwan, Lee Jung-seob, Park In-hwan, and others) — View each figure's grave marker.

4. A section of the Contemplation Trail — Walk through areas dense with anonymous graves.

5. The viewpoint facing Mt. Yongma — Finish by looking out over terrain that was, in its entirety, once a cemetery.

Backup routes for different situations

If it's raining heavily

Spend your time at the entrance signage and displays
→ Skip the mountain-trail sections and view only the flatter grave areas
→ Avoid slippery trail sections after rain

If it's crowded during grave-visiting season

Around Hansik and Chuseok, shift your route toward walking the Contemplation Trail rather than visiting famous figures' graves, and be careful not to disturb bereaved families' movements.

If walking is difficult, or accessibility is a concern

Limit your visit to the independence figures' graves near the entrance, and save the summit viewpoint for a future visit.
