Deogyusan was designated in 1975, together with Odaesan, as Korea’s tenth national park. The park spans Muju and Jangsu in Jeonbuk and Geochang and Hamyang in Gyeongnam; its main peak, Hyangjeokbong, rises to 1,614 meters.
Exact earlier dates for tourist-site and provincial-park status were omitted because they were not consistently confirmed in official sources. Visitors should check current trail controls.
