Kkotji is both coast and repeatedly redesigned event ground
International flower expositions were held in the Kkotji area in 2002 and 2009. Korea Flower Park, seasonal flower events, and the 2026 Taean International Horticultural Healing Expo later reused and changed parts of the landscape. Photographs from the same location may therefore show different entrances, gardens, and operators depending on event and year. Do not treat all expo facilities as a permanent public park or assume an old ticket and route remain valid. Dates, fees, closures, and rain policies are changeable and must be checked on the official event site. Dismantling or plant care may close sections after an event.
More visitors do not automatically mean income for everyone
Chungcheongnam-do reported increased local lodging and substantial sales growth at the Anmyeon traditional market during the 2009 exposition. Those results belong to a specified survey period and method; they do not prove that every later festival or shop receives the same benefit. Visitors may spend only inside an event, while residents bear traffic, waste, maintenance, and temporary-work costs. A tourism assessment should examine lodging, local purchasing, length of employment, and off-season trade as well as total attendance. A field of flowers cannot by itself establish an even distribution of benefits.
The seafood market overlaps tourist and everyday commerce
Anmyeondo Seafood Market on Jangteo-ro was promoted as a tourism-themed market, but official tenant information includes groceries, clothing, household goods, beauty services, restaurants, and seafood. Lists, phone numbers, and businesses change, so verify a shop before traveling for it. Before buying seafood, confirm origin, weight, cleaning charges, and restaurant conditions. Never assume that every item was caught off Anmyeondo that morning. Keep aisles open for residents and ask before photographing a merchant, a close-up price board, or a customer.
Build an actual route for spending between venue and town
Kkotji and the market are separated enough to require a transport and parking plan. Do not reduce the market to a rushed extra stop. Decide what meal or ingredient is genuinely needed, ask about origin, and purchase with clear terms. After an exposition, compare remaining permanent planting, removed temporary structures, and an ordinary weekday at the market. Record the announcing institution and accounting period for any economic statistic; one month of visitation is not annual household income or universal satisfaction. Sustainable tourism is not completed by one large event. Gardens still require care and merchants continue working after the crowd leaves.
