Yeouido Hangang Park · 🚶

From Pastureland to Financial District: The Complete Half-Day Route

A three-to-four-hour route from a Joseon-era pasture to today's financial district, walking through both the island's birth and the price it exacted.

The core route

1. Yeouido Hangang Park (Bamseom Island viewpoint) — Take in Bamseom Island, with its history of destruction and rebirth.

2. Yeouido Park — Confirm the traces of the old runway and May 16 Plaza, and the background of its conversion into a park.

3. Around the National Assembly building — Take in the site of Mount Yangmalsan, the origin of the name Yeouido.

4. Yeouido's financial district — Walk through today's Yeouido scenery.

5. The Hangang Park walking path — During cherry blossom season, plan around the crowds.

6. A review of records related to Bamseom's displaced residents (based on reference materials) — Finish by remembering this island's cost.

Backup routes for different situations

If it's raining heavily

Extend your time at sheltered spots in Yeouido Park, such as the Cultural Plaza's pavilions
→ Move quickly through Hangang Park's outdoor sections, with an umbrella
→ Save the Bamseom Island viewing for a future visit

If cherry blossom crowds are too heavy

Move quickly through the most congested blossom areas, and shift your route toward the relatively quieter interior of Yeouido Park, or visit early in the morning.

If walking is difficult, or accessibility is a concern

Limit your visit to Yeouido Park and the entrance area of Hangang Park, and save the walk through the financial district for a future visit.
