During improvement and double-tracking, the Gokseong–Aprok section moved to a new route, and Old Gokseong Station closed when the new station opened in 1999. Some county materials date closure of the old track to 1998.
Rather than hide the discrepancy, the account describes a 1998–1999 transition. The county later acquired and repaired the station and railway facilities for tourism.
