Gokseong’s Simcheong Festival began in 2001 and continues today as the Gokseong Simcheong Children’s Festival. The 2026 event is being prepared as its 26th edition, combining the story with children’s and family programs.
The link between the Hong-jang tale and Simcheongjeon remains a scholarly interpretation. Names, venues, and programs have changed, so the festival is not presented as an unchanged annual event.
