Jirisan was designated Korea’s first national park on December 29, 1967. The 483.022-square-kilometer mountain park spans Gurye, Namwon, Hadong, Hamyang, and Sancheong.
The park service describes it as Korea’s largest mountain-type national park. A changeable total count of national parks has been removed in favor of stable facts.
