The Hampyeong Butterfly Festival first took place in 1999 and has developed exhibitions and experiences around flowers, butterflies, and insects. It is now a signature spring event at Hampyeong Expo Park and around the town.
There is no basis for framing the festival as a direct overcoming of the area’s civilian-loss history. Unsupported claims about a failed canola festival, profits, and visitor multiples have also been removed.
