The first Truth and Reconciliation Commission established the truth of the Hampyeong 11th Division case on July 3, 2007. Further investigations and decisions on other civilian-loss cases in Hampyeong have continued since.
Official recognition rested on years of testimony and demands from survivors and bereaved families. The previously uncertain decision year has been corrected from the commission’s record.
