This route does not collect landmarks. It reads, on foot, the layers one port has accumulated — from a concession boundary to a new building standing empty. The order is the timeline.

4 · Down through the modern-architecture stretch — museums, Dapdong Cathedral, Hongyemun (Ep.4, 5) · 50–70 min
5 · Sinpo Market — late lunch (Ep.7) · 40–60 min
6 · Incheon Art Platform → toward the piers (Ep.8, 9) · 40–60 min
Designing the hours
The answer is a Tuesday-to-Friday morning start Fact. Monday closures cost you the building interiors of Ep.4 entirely, and weekends crowd Chinatown and Sinpo Market Estimate. Finishing the hill and stair section in the morning and taking a late lunch at the market lets you carry the flat afternoon stretch without strain Estimate.
Why the piers come last
This is the most important decision in the order. Putting the harbour side last means you meet the question of Ep.9 standing on the century of layers you have just walked Estimate. Seeing the staircase, the old shops and the market first and then the new facility is not the same day as seeing only the new facility and going home. That is why this series insists on the order.
Five cities, one theme
Choryang in Busan, Red Hook in New York, Yanesen in Tokyo, Dadaocheng in Taipei, and the Incheon Open Port district — five discovered destinations in different cities, sharing one theme: how a working old district holds itself against time and development Estimate. Choryang and Incheon in particular are both the old centres of port cities, which makes them a good pair for comparing this theme within Korea Estimate. Add Euljiro and the London trilogy and this series becomes one map of ten cities passing through the same question.
