Construction of the Chaegyesan Suspension Bridge began in earnest in July 2018, and it officially opened on March 27, 2020. At 270 meters, Sunchang County described it at opening as Korea’s longest pillarless mountain suspension bridge.
The bridge links hiking routes roughly 75–90 meters above the ground. “Longest” is explicitly framed as an opening-time record so that an old promotional claim is not mistaken for a timeless current fact.
