Built near the summit of Dongmangsan, within Dadohae Sunrise Park in Wando-eup, Wando Tower is a 76-meter observation tower completed in September 2008. Consisting of two ground floors and an observation level, the tower's viewing deck sits 51.4 meters above ground level (and, since the tower stands atop Dongmangsan, the actual viewing elevation is about 200 meters above sea level), offering a panoramic view of the islands surrounding Wando — Cheongsan, Bogil, Nohwa, Soan, Sinji, and Gogeum. On clear days, visitors can reportedly see as far as Jeju Island and Geomun Island.
The views toward Sinji, Gogeum, and Cheongsan can be linked editorially to the preceding stories about exile tradition, Admiral Yi Sun-sin's final headquarters, film, and Cittaslow. This is the series' suggested way of reading the route, not an objective property of the view. Visibility of distant islands also varies with weather and atmospheric conditions.
Wando County gives a completion date of September 11, 2008, maximum height 76 meters, observation-floor height 51.4 meters, and site elevation 132 meters. These measurements should not be added to invent a “viewing elevation of about 200 meters.” Nearby islands are the reliable focus; long-distance visibility to Jeju or Geomun is not guaranteed. Seasonal opening hours differ, and monorail or zipline services have separate conditions. Wando Tower is a modern observation facility, not evidence from Jang Bogo's or Yi Sun-sin's era. It helps travelers place the previous stories geographically.
