Donghwa Village Arboretum is operated by Wonju City. Official information lists 146 hectares and about 1,132 plant taxa. More useful than ranking those numbers is understanding propagation, conservation, education, and public recreation.
An arboretum is not untouched forest
Plants are classified, labeled, planted, and monitored. Paths, greenhouses, and drainage require staff labor. The orderly landscape is managed nature.
Every season offers different evidence
Few flowers do not make a failed visit. Leaves, fruit, buds, and bark matter too. Do not collect plants or seed, and confirm whether programs require booking.
Do not make “healing” a medical claim
Experiences of walking and rest vary. Treat the arboretum as recreation and education, not as guaranteed therapy, and check slopes, weather, and closure days.
