Buan Celadon Museum · 🏛️

A House at Last for 700-Year-Old Pottery

To bring wider recognition to the scholarly value of the Yucheon-ri celadon kiln site, the Buan Celadon Museum opened on April 7, 2011. The museum displays artifacts excavated from the Yucheon-ri kilns alongside the history and techniques of Goryeo celadon production.

Before they were excavated, these ceramics had lain buried in the earth for nearly 700 years. Only once the museum opened could these artifacts finally stand complete before the public. Vessels shaped from clay and hardened in fire now tell, from inside glass display cases, the story of the land where they were born.
