Homes built below the cliff
Below the cliff, once quarrying ended, homes packed onto narrow lots. On terrain without much flat land to spare, residents left the slopes and cliff as they were and built homes in the gaps.
When a home becomes a workshop
As sewing machines then moved into those homes, a structure emerged where a residence doubled as a workshop. That the narrow, packed housing shaped by terrain later became a fitting space for small-scale sewing is the starting point of this neighborhood's industrial history.
