Kim Myeong-gwan built this house in 1784, the eighth year of King Jeongjo. Korea Heritage Service describes its auspicious setting, backed by a mountain and facing water, and the balanced arrangement of its reception and inner quarters.
Unverified claims about the owner’s age and the duration of construction have been omitted. The surviving layout offers a view of an upper-class residence in the late Joseon period.
