After 1910, Japanese colonial authorities moved the Jeoksangsan archive’s books to the royal Gyujanggak. Muju County says its annals were taken to North Korea during the Korean War and are now held by the library of Kim Il Sung University.
References to a 1911 move to Changdeokgung’s Jangseogak and storage at the Grand People’s Study House have been corrected. Records protected in the fortress for centuries were displaced by colonization and war.
