Mangwolsa is described as Uijeongbu’s oldest temple, but that statement does not date every present building. Its halls and objects belong to different periods of rebuilding. The city’s record of a bell cast in 1786 identifies a specific late-Joseon object, not the age of the whole temple. Mangwolsa Station makes access sound easy, yet the official route still involves roughly an hour or more of mountain walking depending on conditions. Check national-park notices, weather and daylight, carry water and proper footwear, and do not ring or touch heritage objects. Record both station departure and temple arrival so metropolitan rail proximity is not confused with level access.
