Seonhwadang was completed in 1667 after construction begun by Governor Yi Man-yeong in 1665. Its name refers to spreading the king’s virtue and educating the people, and governors handled administration, taxation and trials here. The surviving hall became Treasure No. 2157 in 2021; reconstructed parts of the wider compound must be distinguished from the old building.
