Wonju’s official history connects hanji with paper mulberry, clean water and production across Gwirae, Buron, Panbu and Dangu. It records fifteen factories around Dangu-dong in 1991, not fifteen beside the provincial office in the 1950s. The Hanji Theme Park now interprets this history, but a cultural display is not the same thing as a surviving production district.

At the site, distinguish old fabric, reconstructed elements and spaces that still serve everyday life. That separation makes Wonju’s changes easier to read without turning the whole city into a single neat story.
