Pasaseong is a designated Three Kingdoms-period fortress on Pasasan ridge. Its view over the Namhangang and Ipo shows why movement along the river could be watched.
Look beyond a single scene
A fine view alone does not explain defense and control. Builders and construction phases remain subjects of study, so legends are not archaeological conclusions.
Separate evidence from interpretation
The view makes the fortress’s relationship to river crossing and land routes concrete. Defense also required water, food, repair and routine occupation, not only battles. Restored walling should be distinguished from original masonry without dismissing conservation work as fake or treating every neat course of stone as ancient.
